Showing regular, therapy and advanced forms. – Overlap your hands by putting one palm on top of the other to avoid cutting off circulation to your fingers. Rest your head gently on the hands. – Face up at all times when tilting the head. (You are doing this correctly if you can balance a coin on the tip of your nose when your head is tilted.) – Keep both shoulder blades lightly on the ground even when head is tilted. – When your head is to the left, your right knee is up. When you head is to the right, your left knee is up. But keep you sole on the ground. – At the advanced level lift your shoulder blades and heels slightly off the ground to prevent wearing out the back of your shirt and the heels in your socks. – Do not use your hands to lift your head up as this might hurt your neck. If your neck is sore after you do this exercise then take it easy and rest before you try again. Gradually your neck muscles will strengthen to allow you to do this exercise easily. – At therapy level, use frequent pause and rests. (Two years ago, I had to rest for 30 seconds before doing just two more repetition before the upper back pain was too much to continue.) – If you ever had any injury to anywhere in your vertebrae, even childhood injury or if you don’t usually feel any pain, you will feel pain at that spot with this exercise. If you continue to do the exercise, then over time the pain will subside and your injury will be completely cured. You will feel physically stronger, more …

To complete this How-To you will need: Comfortable clothing suitable for stretching and moving A calm place where you won’t be distracted or disturbed A yoga mat or folded blanket A towel Step 1: Lie on stomach Lie down on your stomach, with your arms on the mat near the sides of your body and your hands by your hips. Step 2: Rest forehead on mat Rest your forehead on the mat with your neck relaxed, or lie your head down turned to one side. Step 3: Lift off ground On an exhale, lift your head, arms, chest, and legs off the ground. Keep your legs straight and together, and your arms parallel to the ground. Tip: If you have trouble lifting both legs together, raise one and hold it for several seconds, then lower it and repeat with the other leg. Step 4: Look forward Look straight forward, or if your neck feels tense, look down toward the ground.
